It's been a slow winter, slower spring, and even slower summer 2008. Some of our most active members have taken an extensive leave to actualy make a living as pilots in the airline industry, rendering squadron activity down to nill-to-none. As these members become active again after their initial training with their respective companies is completed, we hope to see other members step up and spend more time flying on-line. With the anticipated wait of the new Battle of Britain, and the new Korean War sim using the BoB graphics engine; we're anticipating a steady rise in squadron participation to enjoy new challenges and even deeper enhancement and immersion into the Combat Flight Sim arena.

The Blacksheep have been involved with Scorched Earth Xtreme over the summer on a few events. The current venture is the Iwo Jima campaign which is flown every Saturday night at 10PM EDT sharp. Four missions have been completed with great success except for the loss of one of our carriers in mission 3. As our Battle Groups steam ever closer to the small island fortress, things will only get hotter as we prepare for invasion day!

A nice addtion to our events has been coordinating Carrier Qualifications (CQ) training with our allied partners in SE Xtreme. A real interest on how carrier operations were actually conducted has enhanced the realism and emersion in the Iwo campaign. It was a nice opportunity to show other great squadrons in the community what it looks like to fly REAL formation. Nothing but praise for the Blacksheep from our friends in regards to our team flying skills.

The Blacksheep have added a few more to its fold in the last month or so. Welcome aboard to Target, Winchester, Hitcher, Duty-Cat, and Chaplain-Crash. In addition, welcome back to Dedman after being away on extended leave from PC Flight Sims.

Special thanks to Vainspark, Budman, and Seca for supplying the Blacksheep with 2 servers to fly on in Hyperlobby. You can find them as BSS_Blacksheep and Blacksheep's Pen. One will be used for squadron training sessions, and internal team/wingman tournaments while the other will be set up to host the community in Hyperlobby with a number of missions to enjoy.

With one of the newest additions in the Sheep's Pen of the SEOW's administrator - BSS_Hitcher, the squadron has really taken a nose-dive into Scorched Earth by flying it first mission last Saturday night. Things will really begin to heat up as our Battle Group (CVBG) closes in on Guadalcanal. 8 pilots flew the first mission, and more are sure to join in as things begin to heat up!
